The Alabama Crimson Tide just received a very important update regarding a highly coveted prospect from the 2026 recruiting class.
Chris Washington Jr. recently announced that he will officially be decommitting from Alabama. A top 30 overall recruit, Washington has been committed to the Tide since September, and was Nate Oats' first official commit from the 2026 class. The four-star prospect will more than likely draw interest from a number of different programs following the announcement, and an official decision is expected to come in the near future.
Washington is a talented player that could have made a major impact on the Crimson Tide next season. Rumors continue to circulate around social media in regards to why Washington may have decommitted from the Tide, as many believe that head coach Nate Oats and his staff could be closing in on landing four-star recruit Qayden Samuels. Currently listed as a top 20 recruit from the 2026 class, Samuels would instantly fill the void left by Washington's departure with his elite athleticism and shooting ability.
Fans are encouraged to keep a close eye on Alabama's 2026 recruiting class moving forward, as the Tide will now turn to other available options following Washington's decision.
