MANHATTAN — One of the top-ranked long snappers in the country announced his commitment to Kansas State football on Monday, Nov. 17.

Sam Dolphens, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound long snapper out of Papillion-La Vista South (Nebraska), said he is going to suit up for the Wildcats in a post to X.

According to Kohl’s Professional Camps, a respected evaluator for specialists, ranks Dolphens as the No. 4 long snapper in the 2026 class, and as a five-star prospect. He also held offers from Tulsa, Auburn and Middle Tennessee.

“He rips the ball with power and impressive accuracy,” his evaluation by Kohl’s said. “Dolphens is not only one of the best snappers in the country, but will be an asset in coverage. He checks every box and has all the attributes needed to start right away.”

Mason Olguin and Andrew Johnson have split some long-snapping duties throughout the season. Olguin, a senior, has been the snapper on punts, while Johnson, a sophomore, has snapped on field goals.
