For the second time on Friday, the Oregon Ducks came up short in a big recruitment.

Four-star offensive lineman Caden Moss committed to Ohio State on Friday. He chose the Buckeyes over Oregon, LSU, Kentucky, Tennessee and in-state Ole Miss. Even though the Ducks missed out, Moss was long believed to be staying close to home with Ole Miss, but momentum flipped to Ohio State late in the process.

Moss is the No. 43 overall player and No. 5 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is also the top-ranked player in Mississippi, standing 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds. While he does line up at left tackle at Jackson Academy, Moss has the size and athleticism to shift inside to guard at the college level.

The Ducks are missing out on one of the top offensive linemen in the class, but the Ducks have also loaded up in the trenches. A commitment from three-star offensive lineman Lex Mailangi on Wednesday gave the Ducks four linemen in the class, and the Ducks think Mailangi could be a star at guard or center.

Four-star guard Gus Corsair, four-star tackle Cameron Wagner, and three-star tackle Avery Michael make up the rest of Oregon’s class along the offensive line. Four-star Gecova Doyal is set to commit on July 1, so the Ducks could add even more to the class.

Oregon has the No. 9 class in the nation according to Rivals, and the No. 5 class in the country per 247 Sports. Despite missing on a pair of big targets on Thursday, the Ducks could boost their class tremendously this summer.
