Notre Dame has a pretty good track record of developing guards that go on to NFL stardom, such as Zack Martin and Quenton Nelson. The Fighting Irish hope that Albert Simien might be the next player to continue that tradition.
The five-star class of 2027 guard officially committed to the Fighting Irish, as reported by USA TODAY Sports and others. The Louisiana product selected Notre Dame over finalists LSU, Nebraska and Texas A&M.
Simien visited Notre Dame last week, which appeared to leave the lasting impression that allowed him to lock in on the Fighting Irish on June 26 as he announced his decision on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Simien is viewed as an elite prospect in the run game who can also develop into a strong pass protector as well.
