Fairfield Union players take home OPSMA All-Southeast District football honors

LANCASTER — The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association All-Southeast District high school football teams, selected by a media panel from the district, were released recently, and Fairfield Union had four players named to the team.

Junior quarterback Dean Clark, senior defensive lineman Zach Berry, and senior linebacker Grant McPherson were all named first-team All-District, while junior running back Lane Burkhardt was a special mention selection.

Fairfield Union's Dean Clark turns the corner with Heath's J.J. Holloway in pursuit during the host Falcons' 22-3 victory in a Division IV, Region 15 first-round game on Oct. 31, 2025.

Clark accounted for 1,439 total yards of offense and 15 touchdowns. He passed for 789 yards and six scores and rushed for 650 yards and nine touchdowns.

McPherson finished with 93 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss. Berry had 46 tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks. Burkhardt rushed for 785 yards on 151 attempts and 11 touchdowns.

The Falcons finished with a 6-4 regular season record and qualified for the Division IV, Region 15 playoffs. They defeated Heath 22-3 in the first round for their first playoff win since 2001 before being knocked out by New Lexington.

Fairfield Union played its first four regular-season games on the road and went 1-3, but rebounded nicely by winning five of the last six regular-season games.
