Clemsonfootball’s 2027 recruiting class received another boost in the national rankings after landing four-star defensive back Jayden Aparicio-Bailey over the weekend.
The Tigers now sit at No. 11 in the latest 247Sports team recruiting rankings and No. 15 in On3’s rankings. ESPN has not updated its team rankings since before Aparicio-Bailey’s commitment, so Clemson remains No. 14 in its latest release.
Aparicio-Bailey became Clemson’s 24th commitment in the 2027 class after choosing the Tigers over Georgia. Auburn and South Carolina were also finalists, but both programs had official visits canceled as Clemson pulled ahead in his recruitment.
The Prattville, Alabama native gives Clemson another highly regarded defensive back. He joins four-star Jarrell Chandler and three-stars Harrison Luke, Bryant Robinson and Christian Chancellor, giving the Tigers five defensive back commitments in the class. While recruiting services project Aparicio-Bailey as a safety, Clemson plans to play him at cornerback.
Clemson has built plenty of momentum on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. Aparicio-Bailey is the 17th player to commit to the Tigers since the middle of May, helping the class climb into the top 15 nationally across every major recruiting service.
Even before the latest commitment, ESPN praised the overall makeup of Clemson’s class, pointing to quarterback Kharim Hughley, offensive lineman J.J. Brown and defensive prospects Desmond Malpress, Bryce Kish and Luke Starcevic among the group’s standout additions.

With official visit season now complete, Clemson still has several recruiting battles to watch in the coming weeks, giving Dabo Swinney and his staff additional opportunities to strengthen one of the nation’s top 2027 classes.
