Mike Elko continues to build a promising 2027 recruiting class for Texas A&M football.

Already having top wide receiver Jaden Upsaw and quarterback Jayce Johnson in the fold for their offense, the Aggies added a commitment from top-25 recruit Eric McFarland III on Sunday, June 28.

McFarland ranks as the No. 25 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the No. 5 overall wide receiver and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Florida.

He picked the Aggies over offers from Georgia, Ohio State, USC and other top programs.

The 5-foot-8, 177-pound receiver reclassified from the 2028 cycle to 2027 in December 2025. He caught 29 passes for 595 yards with 11 touchdowns in nine games in 2025 as a sophomore. He also threw a touchdown, as he helped IMG Academy go 9-0 against a national schedule.

As a freshman in 2024, McFarland had 36 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns. He also threw an 80-yard touchdown pass.

McFarland was named the Offensive MVP of the 2026 Polynesian Bowl following a four-catch, 66-yard, and 35-yard rushing performance. He scored a touchdown as well.
