2027 5-star OL 'feels the love' from Texas A&M and five other programs

Texas A&M’s pursuit of 2027 five-star offensive lineman Albert Simien came to a halt after the blue-chip blocker committed to Notre Dame on Friday. The Aggies remain in good shape with five-star offensive lineman Mark Matthews and Kennedy Brown and four-star tackles Dametrious Crownover and Kaeden Scott, committed and expected to sign their letters of intent in early December.

For third-year offensive line coach Adam Cushing, loading up on elite offensive line talent continues to be a priority in every recruiting class, especially after landing six O-lineman in the 2025 cycle, with several competing for starting/rotational spots this season. Coach Mike Elko and Cushing will likely continue to pursue Simien, but another name to watch is fellow five-star OL Ismael Camara.

Earlier this month, Camara stated that he would push back his previously planned official visits, which included Texas A&M, and while the Texas Longhorns are the favorites to land his commitment, the Aggies, along with SMU, LSU, Oregon, and Tennessee, remain “in the mix” based on his recent interview with On3 insider Sam Spiegelman.

Camara is a Texas legacy, as several Gilmer HS alumni, including his cousins Kris, DeMarco, and David, all played for the Longhorns, so it’s no surprise that Texas leads in his recruitment. Still, counting out Texas A&M, or any of the other three programs, would be a mistake, especially given Adam Cushing’s recent success. According to Camara, he has continued to FaceTime with every coaching staff.

“Just fantastic coaches and options all around,” Robison stated. “We are also in touch regularly with Tennessee, LSU, A&M, and Alabama. He also has had very well-attended FaceTime calls with the entire staff at Oregon. He feels the love for sure.”

According to Rivals, Ismael Camara is currently positioned as the 34th-ranked prospect in the cycle, the 4th-ranked offensive lineman, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Texas.
