It’s Monday, and we are in the full swing of the summer offseason. That being said, football preview posts are ramping up. As always, our coverage is still going strong. Check out our original coverage and what we can find from the World Wide Web below.

Potential downside of the eligibility rule.

Stephen Tsai looks into how the five-year eligibility rule impacts Hawaii’s past and future teams. Coach Chang says it clears up gray areas with players and definitely eliminates hard decisions about how often to play freshmen. Over the past few years, the ruling would have helped the Rainbow Warriors in some areas while hurting them in others. QB Brayden Schager would have been eligible in 2025, but K Kansei Matsuzawa and P Billy Gowers would not have been.

Utah State Preview

College Football presses on with its team preview series, and this one covers the Aggies. With the offense, they stocked up on receivers in the portal and have a great downfield passing game when things are working. But they need to find ways to score consistently late in the game, and the offensive line needs to improve their run-blocking. Turning to the defense, there was a lot to address, but the secondary wasn’t bad, and the staff added a lot of depth at linebacker and on the DL in the portal. The unit needs to slow teams down in the air and find ways to recover more of the fumbles they force. CFN predicts Utah State will go 5-7, which would qualify as a disappointment.

Faulk cracks best CFB players of the 90s.

The Athletic is doing a series on college football in the 90s, and this one features the top 25 players. San Diego State’s star running back Marshall Faulk checks in at #6. As a Heisman runner-up, he finished his career with 4,589 rushing yards, 973 receiving yards, and 62 total TDs. The Aztecs were one of the few schools to offer Faulk at running back, and the move paid off better than they could have hoped.
