It’s a hat trick for Utah.
The Utes received their third commitment of the day as three-star Texas wide receiver Darnell Jackson Jr. announced his pledge to Utah on Wednesday night.
Jackson Jr.’s commitment follows the pledges of offensive lineman Ian Aloisio and linebacker Fui Vakapuna, teammates from Timpview High.
Jackson Jr., 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, is rated an 86 by 247Sports, which ranks him the No. 151 receiver nationally and the No. 154 overall prospect in the state of Texas.
Jackson Jr.’s final list was narrowed to Utah, Northwestern and Texas State, with the speedster opting to go with the Utes.
Last year for Grand Oaks High in Spring, Texas, Jackson Jr. hauled in 29 receptions for 430 yards and six touchdowns. He also competes in track, posting an incredible time of 10.08 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Utah has 20 commitments in its 2027 class, including now two receivers — Jackson Jr. and three-star Dillon Sykes.
