It’s been a pretty strong summer for Arizona on the recruiting trail, and it got a little better on Saturday.
3-star Texas offensive lineman Mason Joshua announced his commitment to the Wildcats, becoming the 17th member of their 2027 recruiting class.
Joshua has a nice frame, 6-foot-5 and around 270 pounds. He has plenty of room for growth and to add good weight once arriving to Tucson. He completed his first season as a starter last year for his Forney squad and played both right tackle and, at times, center. He is a multi-sport athlete and has found wild success with his track and field adventures, earning plenty of accolades.
Joshua had 21 reported offers on the recruiting side. He chose the Wildcats over Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Texas Tech, Utah and Wake Forest to name a few.
Ranking-wise, 247Sports has him listed as a 3-star in both the Composite and their internal rankings. In the Composite, Joshua checks in as the No. 520 player nationally, the No. 33 OT and the 68th-best player in Texas. Internally, 247 has him ranked as the No. 25 interior offensive lineman and the No. 48 player in the Lone Star State.
Joshua has been a priority for UA. Offensive line coach Josh Oglesby visited him in January this year, with a return trip with additional staff members in early May. Joshua himself visited Tucson for an unofficial visit in mid March. As mentioned above, he took his official visit to Arizona in late May.
Arizona’s 2027 class, now at 17 commitments, includes two offensive linemen and nine recruits from Texas.
