Colorado and six player representatives will be on stage on July 7th, with several storylines set to headline the event and perhaps a new one unfolding after Monday’s announcement of the 2026 Preseason All-Big 12 Team.
No Colorado Buffaloes made the team, which should not come as a surprise after the program finished 2025 with a 3-9 record.
The All-Big 12 team is led by Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita on offense and Texas Tech linebacker Austin Romaine on defense. Former Buff wide receiver Omarion Miller, who transferred to Arizona State, makes the team as the only player with CU ties.
Colorado was one of three Big 12 programs without a player on the team, joining Kansas and UCF. The Buffs’ likeliest representative would have been wide receiver Danny Scudero, who was a Blienikoff Award semifinalist a year ago and, by many accounts, is a superior player to Oklahoma State receiver Wyatt Young.
Bottom Line
Despite being left off the preseason All-Big 12 team, Colorado is quietly going about its business, seemingly content to be the underdog. The team has yet to show it can be a consistent program, but based on everything Deion Sanders has done this offseason, including a revamped coaching staff, there are reasons to expect a turnaround.
