Who are the top uncommitted 2027 Florida high school football stars?

The 2027 football recruiting cycle in Florida has been unprecedented for a number of reasons.

The most notable is Texas A&M's success. The Aggies have commitments from six players on the USA Today Florida Network top 100, including four of the top five players in the state. No team in the NIL era — including the state's big three college programs — has ever landed so much of the state's top talent.

But it's more than just the Texas A&M commitments. A lot more.

As of July 1, 92 of the players on the USA TODAY Florida Network top 100 already have announced their college decisions. While it's common for players to commit during the summer, no amount of top 100 players have ever committed this early in the cycle.

Verbal commitments are non-binding and it's a long way to the early signing period in December.

It would be shocking to see all 92 players stick with their current commitments. Some players will flip commitments over the next few months as the coaching changes happen and other players decisions alter the landscape.

Here are the eight players on the top 100 who have not yet announced their decisions.

CB Censere Gaylord, IMG

IMG Academy defensive back Censere Gaylord (#21). IMG Academy held a media day practice on Friday, Aug. 1st, 2025 in Bradenton.

Top 100 rank: 13

Gaylord is the only player in the top 20 who hasn't announced his college decision yet. The 6-foot, 165-pound Gaylord stated his high school career in California. He took official visits to Washington and Georgia in June. Gaylord also has Georgia Tech and Auburn in his top four, but Washington is considered the frontrunner.

CB Kamauri Whitfield, The First Academy

Top 100 rank: 25

The 5-10½, 185-pound Whitfield is scheduled to announce his decision on July 6. He initially committed to Tennessee in October before decommitting in February. Whitfield took official visits to Florida, Nebraska and Oregon. The Gators are considered the team to beat.

WR Kyren Caldwell, Columbia

Top 100 rank: 36

Columbia WR Kyren Caldwell evades a tackle after a catch during their District 4A Regional semifinal football game at Choctaw. The Indians advanced to the regional final with a 27-20 win.

Caldwell is scheduled to announce his college decision on July 4. The 6-1, 175 pounder took official visits to Alabama, Maryland and Mississippi State in June. Alabama appears to be the clear front runner.

RB Tranard Roberts, Villages Charter

Top 100 rank: 45

Roberts took an official visit to North Carolina in June. The 5-11½, 195-pound Roberts had a strong connection to Florida's previous coaching staff, but it has cooled off since Jon Sumrall was hired. The former IMG running back dropped a top 10 in May that included Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

LB Liufau Loumoli, IMG

Top 100 rank: 46

Loumoli transferred to IMG from Eastside Catholic (Washington) before his junior year. His recruitment has been somewhat quiet the past few months. Auburn, Louisville, Michigan and Wake Forest are among the schools to offer the 6-1, 210-pound Loumoli since January.

RB Connail Jackson, Cardinal Mooney

Cardinal Mooney running back Connail Jackson (34) runs up field during Friday night's game. Cardinal Mooney hosted True North Academy on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, in Sarasota.

Top 100 rank: 73

The MVP of the 2025 Class 2A state championship game initially committed to UCF in May before decommiting a month later. Jackson has been to both Virginia Tech and North Carolina, with both ACC schools firmly in the running for the 5-10, 180 pounder.

LB Ji'Koi Highsmith, Archbishop McCarthy

Top 100 rank: 90

The 6-1½, 210-pound Highsmith is the nephew of former University of Miami star running back Alonzo Highsmith. Ji'Koi Highsmith has more than a dozen offers ranging from Power 4 programs (Pitt, Syracuse, UCF) to Ivy League schools.

ATH Braylyn Simmons, Mainland

Mainland High's Braylyn Simmons stretches out to grab a pass, Monday August 4, 2025 as the team runs drills.

Top 100 rank: 93

Simmons is an offensive playmaker who can line up both in the backfield and at wide receiver. He continues to pick up offers, with FIU, Georgia State, UCF, UMass and UNLV among the schools to recently offer.
