The LSU football program expects big things under new head coach Lane Kiffin in 2026. Kiffin and his staff are picking up some big pledges on the recruiting trail, and LSU got yet another one on Tuesday. Four-star safety Jayden Anding committed to the Tigers, per Rivals.

Anding chose LSU over Kiffin’s old school, Ole Miss. This is another four-star commit to join Kiffin in Baton Rouge. The safety is from the state of Louisiana.

“Deep deep down in the waters where I was raised,” he said to the outlet.

Anding had offers from several SEC schools. Oklahoma also wanted the talented safety, who is a member of the 2027 class. Other power 4 schools including Miami (FL) had also offered.

The safety recently visited LSU, and was deeply impressed.

“LSU is an incredible program with a winning tradition,” Anding told Rivals. “The coaches have been consistent throughout my recruitment, and they’ve shown they believe in me both as a player and as a person. They’ve definitely made me feel like a priority. Also, they have made this recruitment process about me, specifically, about me and not about my brother.”

Anding had a connection already at the school.

“Anding is currently the No. 25 safety in the country and a top-10 prospect in the state going into his senior season. He’s no stranger to LSU, where he’ll follow in the footsteps of his brother Aidan Anding who committed to the purple and gold as a four-star defensive back a few years ago as well,” Rivals reported.

Kiffin bolted Ole Miss for LSU during the 2025 college football season. He replaces Brian Kelly, who was fired during the 2025 campaign in Baton Rouge. Kiffin was highly sought after as hires were made during this last college football coaching cycle.

LSU football kicks off the 2026 season against Clemson on September 5.
