Ohio State has been on fire on the recruiting trail. Now, the Buckeyes predicted to add another five-star playmaker to its offense for the future.

Last week brought the Ohio State Buckeyes a big 2028 recruiting win by landing five-star WR Jett Harrison out of Pennsylvania.

Getting a commitment from Marvin Harrison Jr.’s brother is a big step for the Buckeyes in the future of their wide receiver room under new position coach Cortez Hankton.

A week after landing Harrison, the noise is getting louder around the Buckeyes adding a second five-star wideout in the class of 2028. And what a duo it would be for the future of the Buckeyes.

Ohio State predicted to land five-star wide receiver from down south

2028 five-star Providence Day School (NC) WR Braylon Clark took just one unofficial visit in June and it was to Ohio State. Clark is a top target for the Buckeyes on offense in the next class, and they’ve made it clear.

Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of Rivals have both predicted Clark to commit to the Buckeyes, which is a big deal just days after landing Harrison.

“The elite pass catcher spent the weekend with wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton [in June],” Chad Simmons wrote. “They broke down film, got work in at camp, and discussed his game,” Rivals’ Chad Simmons wrote. “Clark was also learning how Ohio State envisions developing him into the next star wide receiver in Columbus.”

Ohio State is battling Oregon for the top player in North Carolina

The 6-foot-2, 188-pound wideout is ranked as the No. 4 wideout and No. 14 overall player, per 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Schools like Oregon, Alabama, and Texas A&M have prioritized the top player from the state of North Carolina, but the Buckeyes have separated themselves as of right now.

Getting Clark back on campus in the fall would be a big step in this recruitment, but getting a commitment before his junior season is out of the realm of possibility either.

Oregon might be the biggest competition for the multi-sport standout. Hankton is leading the recruitment of Clark, and landing a big-time duo for the future as Jeremiah Smith exits looks to be a point of emphasis a year after Jamier Brown is expected to be on campus this coming winter.
