Kansas State's Collin Klein Puts High Priority On Faith As Well As Football

Mixing sports and religion is often a touchy subject.

Some prefer to keep them separate but new Kansas State Wildcats coach Collin Klein has no problem with talking about his faith. He said a strong belief in God has helped pave his way to becoming so successful.

He recently spoke about it during Big 12 Media Days last week in Frisco, Texas.

"Top to bottom, my faith, my relationship with Jesus is the most important thing," Klein said. "These situations are completely because of him and everything that he has blessed me and my family with. It's not because of how hard I've worked, how smart I am. It has nothing to do with that."

Klein inherits a Wildcats team that finished 6-6 under former coach Chris Klieman, who resigned unexpectedly after the season. That opened the door for Klein, a former K-State star quarterback who was the offensive coordinator last year for the Texas A & M Aggies.

Klein has every intention of turning the Wildcats back into a national power and doesn't mind using a little faith to make it happen.

WILDCATS OFFER TOP CORNERBACK

Kansas State football has been hitting home runs in their 2027 class commits.

So, yeah, why not start building for the future? Even if it is the far, far future, it's good that the program is getting a head start on reeling in some names for potential prospects.

The latest was cornerback Riley Lewis, who currently attends Duncanville High School in Duncanville, TX. North Texas, SMU, and Texas Tech were among the notable schools offering him as well.

"Truly blessed to say I’ve received my 11th D1 offer from Kansas State University," Lewis tweeted.

The Wildcats are in a bit of a dead period at the moment, but still have one of the best 2027 recruiting classes in the country. While 2029 is a way away from their current evaluation period, it's still good to start laying the groundwork for what you could get.
