It’s no secret that five-star tight end Tytan McNeal is the Washington Huskies‘ top target at the position in the 2028 class.

The in-state product of Eastside Catholic High School is the top-ranked player at the position in the country, according to 247Sports, and in an effort led by tight ends coach Jordan Paopao, Washington has been hot on his trail for a while. However, as the Huskies continue to try to add depth all over the field, another promising athlete has emerged at the position in the Pacific Northwest.

Three-star tight end Presley DeLance, a product of Lake Oswego High School in Oregon, should quickly rise through the ranks in his final two years of high school football and become a high priority for Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff.

Washington is among the 12 teams that have extended an offer to the 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 19 tight end and top player in Oregon by Rivals, with Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, and Utah also in the mix for his services.

Despite recording just 9 catches as a sophomore, which he took for 235 yards and a touchdown, DeLance displays an elite athletic profile. While he mainly lines up at wide receiver and would have to work on adding strength and physicality to play as an in-line blocker in college, his breakaway speed, strong hands, and ability to create separation as a route runner are exactly what Fisch is looking for from a tight end that he can move all over the formation.

Washington’s head coach has done an impressive job of creating mismatches with players with similar profiles throughout his career, and has used Decker DeGraaf in that role across his first two seasons, which DeLance would be able to fill well.

As DeLance continues to rise up boards across the country, the Huskies could wind up making a significant push to secure his services.
