The Oklahoma Sooners are killing it in the 2027 recruiting class, as they are one of five teams with multiple five-star commitments.

The Oklahoma Sooners are killing it in the 2027 recruiting class and cycle. For most of the year, they have had the No. 1 class in the country. Now, the Texas A&M Aggies have the No. 1 class, and rightfully so. They also have the most five-star recruits. But the Sooners aren’t far off.

If you use Rivals Industry Rankings, you will see that the Sooners are currently sixth in the 2027 recruiting class. But they are one of five teams in the country with at least two five-star recruits. On3 posted a graphic showing Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Texas as the only schools with more than one five-star commit. That’s something that not every team can say.

And with the Sooners, they’re making sure they get the guys that they want. The best part is that these guys are rated where they are because OU really doesn’t care. Brent Venables only cares about what they see on tape and what they know as the individual, not what a website says the player is ranked.

If you ask Venables, I’d bet he’d say this class is the best in the country by a mile. Oklahoma is doing things its own way when it comes to recruiting. But there could still be some things to address in the class. Or, the class could be finished.

Sooners could wrap up their 2027 recruiting class early

The Sooners have 27 total commits, and at least two at every position. Well, one, they don’t, and that’s the tight end position. They have Seneca Driver, a five-star tight end. But they could use one more, if there was anything else they wanted to address. Only one of the 11 tight ends they have offered has yet to commit. That’s Jeramie Cooper, but he’s down to Houston and SMU. So, this class could be done, or at least very close to it.
