ESPN’s “College GameDay” is heading back to Eugene, Oregon, for the second time in 2025 and third time in two seasons on Saturday, Nov. 22.
No. 5 Oregon takes on No. 16 USC in a bout between former Pac-12 rivals in Week 13, with both looking to lock up College Football Playoff berths.
The Trojans (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) are still in contention for the CFP, although their chances hinge on a road win over Oregon, which would muddy the 12-team bracket picture.
There’s a scenario where the winner of USC-Oregon heads to the CFP, although the Ducks still have an argument with a 10-2 finish.
Sabrina Ionescu served as the celebrity guest picker for “College GameDay” when Oregon hosted Indiana on Oct. 11. Who will be the next guest picker?
Here’s a look at potential guest picker choices for “College GameDay’:
‘College GameDay’ guest picker predictions for USC vs. Oregon
Marcus Mariota
The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner at Oregon, current Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota could be a strong option in Week 13, given the Commanders are on bye in the NFL.
Mariota has played often for Washington this season, filling in for the injured Jayden Daniels. Mariota led the Ducks to a national championship berth in 2014, where they fell to Ohio State.
Justin Herbert
Another former Oregon quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers standout Justin Herbert, a Eugene native, is also on a bye week in the NFL.
The Sheldon High School alum was the No. 6 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and has blossomed into one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. Herbert owns the NFL record for touchdown passes (31) and completions (396) by a rookie.
Herbert would be a strong choice, given his ties to not only the program, but his hometown. Former Oklahoma guard Trae Young, who grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, was a “GameDay” choice earlier this season, showcasing the show’s interest in having athletes connected to the area.
Bo Nix
Somehow, three former Oregon quarterbacks in the NFL are off this week, with Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix also potentially available for “College GameDay.”
Nix and the Broncos have an NFL-best 9-2 record this season and Nix has passed for 2,421 yards with 18 touchdowns to eight interceptions in 2025. The former Heisman Trophy finalist emerged as one of college football’s top quarterbacks after transferring to Oregon from Auburn, where he played for three seasons.
“College GameDay” doesn’t appear to be short of some strong NFL choices as its guest picker.
Cole Hocker
Cole Hocker is a bit of a long shot given the trio of former Oregon quarterbacks being off from the NFL this week, but Hocker would be a fun outside-the-box choice.
The former Oregon track star shockingly took gold in the 1,500 meters at the 2024 Paris Olympics, setting an Olympic record and a personal-best time by nearly three seconds. It was the seventh-fastest run ever in the event.
Everyone knows how important track and field is to the University of Oregon. Why not choose an all-timer like Hocker as the guest picker?
