Madison Beer's post has Oregon Duck fans speculating about guest picker for 'GameDay'

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is coming to Eugene for the second time this year, this time to preview the Oregon Ducks‘ game against the USC Trojans, a virtual playoff game, with the winner likely cementing their spot in the postseason, while the loser gets relegated to the bowl season.

While the game has provided enough fodder for an entire week, one of the biggest storylines in Eugene thus far has been about who the “guest picker” for ESPN will be on Saturday. ‘GameDay’ has a tradition of bringing the biggest past stars back to campus each week and bringing them on stage to pick the biggest games. Earlier this year, it was Sabrina Ionescu who returned to town ahead of the Ducks‘ game vs. Indiana.

So who will it be this time around? We’ve put out a list of potential names, but there are three guys who stand at the top: Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert, Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix, and Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota. All three players are on bye this week, so it would presumably work for their schedules to come to town.

Based on the recent social media activity from a significant other, it appears that one of those players is in Oregon as of Tuesday.

Herbert’s new girlfriend, pop star Madison Beer, posted on her Instagram story a picture of Mount Shasta from the window of a plane. For the geography fans out there, Mount Shasta is located in Northern California, just about 40 miles south of the Oregon border. This means you’d have to fly over it on the way from Los Angeles to Eugene.

It may end up being just a coincidence, or it could be unofficial confirmation that both Herbert and Beer will be in Eugene this weekend. If that does end up being the case, fans would be thrilled at the return for the hometown kid.

We should learn officially within the next 24-48 hours who the guest picker will be.
