Only 46 Points Scored Against Michigan in 2008 Until Penn State Football

We are only 46 days out from Penn State’s 2026 campaign officially beginning, but we’re going to time warp back to the year 2008 for today’s portion of the countdown. Penn State entered their 2008 clash with Michigan having not beaten the Wolverines since 1996, losing the previous nine meetings.

On that homecoming afternoon in Happy Valley though, against a Michigan team that was re-tooling in their first year under head coach Rich Rodriguez, the Nittany Lions unleashed a dozen years’ worth of frustration, delivering a 46-17 shellacking to the Wolverines. Evan Royster ripped off 174 yards rushing and a touchdown, while Daryll Clark threw for 171 yards and a TD and also ran for two other TD’s. Deon Butler also racked up 108 yards on eight catches, while Stephfon Green took an 80-yard screen pass to the house to pile on late.

Currently rocking the No. 46 jersey on the roster is true freshman run-on linebacker Evan Wolff.
