Washington football could prioritize big-bodied Texas WR in 2028

After the Washington Huskies pulled in an impressive crop of wide receivers in the 2027 recruiting class, Jedd Fisch and position coach Kevin Cummings are looking to build on their success in 2028.

The Huskies have also found some success in Texas on the trail, adding four-star receivers in each of the last two classes with Jordan Clay in 2026 and Tre Moore in 2027. Now, as UW turns its attention to 2028, four-star Carter St. Junious could quickly move to the top of the board for Fisch’s coaching staff.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, the Huskies initially extended an offer to the Manvel High School product in mid-May, joining 29 other programs in the hunt for the No. 148 overall prospect and No. 20 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite, alongside LSU, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, and others.

As a sophomore, St. Junious racked up 40 catches for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns, while displaying the skill set that Fisch and Cummings are looking for from potential X receiver prospects.

On film, he displays his fluidity as a route runner, along with the necessary strength, physicality, and body control to routinely win contested catches. Combined with solid speed needed to stretch the field from his isolated alignment, and explosiveness to separate from defensive backs in short areas, St. Junious has the prototypical profile that the Huskies have scouted over the last few recruiting cycles.

Washington has begun to prioritize size on the recruiting trail, and has earned pledges from four receivers listed at 6-foot-1 and above over the last two classes, and with a strong junior season, St. Junious could quickly become another priority target for the Huskies.
