Last week, I attempted to pick every Big Ten game in Week 12 of the college football season. After a tough week last week, I was looking to bounce back as the regular season entered its final push.

So how did my picks fare? Let’s take a look and see:

Oregon over Minnesota (Friday)

“Oregon does not get caught looking ahead to next week’s potentially huge matchup with USC.”

I did not expect this game to be close, and sure enough, it was not.

Record: 1-0

Indiana over Wisconsin

“Good for Wisconsin for finally winning a Big Ten game last week. It isn’t going to happen again this week.”

Indiana played with its food a little in the first half before pulling away in the second half.

Record: 2-0

Michigan over Northwestern

“This game is being played at Wrigley Field, so I am taking the Tigers over the Cubs.”

The Tigers defeated the Cubs on a three-run walk-off home run.

Record: 3-0

USC over Iowa

“Not going to lie, I kind of wish we could have the 2023 versions of these teams play so that the country could watch a Brian Ferentz offense against an Alex Grinch defense. Even in 2025, however, the two teams still play completely different styles of football. Give me the Trojans to get a victory at home.”

For a while, this prediction did not look like it was going to hit. But USC mounted an impressive second half comeback to take down Iowa and keep its Big Ten title and playoff hopes alive.

Record: 4-0

Penn State over Michigan State

“Imagine telling someone at the start of the season that these would be two of the three teams winless in Big Ten play midway through November.”

It took until Week 12, but Penn State finally has its first Big Ten win of the season.

Record: 5-0

Illinois over Maryland

Illinois‘s last three games of the season are against Maryland, Wisconsin, and Northwestern. The Illini may be kicking themselves over their loss to Washington for a while, as it may very well be what winds up keeping them out of the College Football Playoff.

Illinois won handily. For the second year in a row, the Illini are on track to a nine-win team that no one is really talking about.

Record: 6-0

Washington over Purdue

“Surely the Huskies will not lose to a team winless in conference play for the second week in a row, right?”

Make it 17 Big Ten losses in a row for Purdue.

Record: 7-0

Ohio State over UCLA

“I have watched UCLA lose a lot of football games over the past 5-10 years. I am not sure that I have ever been more confident of them losing than this Saturday against the No. 1 team in the country.”

For the second year in a row, UCLA will officially not be going to a bowl game. Such a shame.

Overall Record: 8-0

Overall Performance

Finally, I have done it! A perfect week!
