Parker Brailsford‘s status for Alabama football vs. Eastern Illinois is in question.

On the SEC media teleconference Wednesday, Nov. 19, Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer said Brailsford’s playing status is in question for Eastern Illinois.

“He’s a little bit up in the air with where he’s at for this week just from Saturday,” DeBoer said.

Brailsford was recently seen wearing a boot on his right foot days after the Crimson Tide’s loss to Oklahoma.

Brailsford has played 689 snaps across 10 games per Pro Football Focus.

Who is Alabama football backup center?

Redshirt freshman Joseph Ionata played 13 snaps of center in Alabama’s Week 2 win against Louisiana Monroe, while Geno VanDeMark played four snaps at center in Alabama’s Week 3 win against Wisconsin.

“I think Joe’s very similar to many of our guys on our roster that just continue to work,” DeBoer said. “You see the regulars out on the football field each and every Saturday. But there are definitely guys behind the scenes that are just grinding away in the weight room and on the field. Just owning their day and the opportunity they get to compete. He’s one of them. Understanding the game better from football IQ. The center position is very important. He’s in a. spot where you put him out there and you feel good about what’s going to happen when he’s snapping the football.”

Alabama will take on Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 on SEC Network+.
