How I feel about all 138 FBS programs going into the 2026 CFB season

The college football is a little more than a month away, and if we can look past all of the hair-pulling conversations about the NCAA, congress, the incredible arrogance of the SEC, and whatever other nonsense is out there… we should all be pretty excited.

For me, it’s always been about more than Notre Dame football. My fandom has only one No. 1, and that’s college football as a whole. In that spirit, I thought I might go ahead and share my thoughts about every single one of the 138 FBS football programs. Rather than write a 3000 word essay, I thought a ranking of some sort would work best.

So… I tiered it all out. The fun thing about the chaos of the CFB season is that this set of rankings an and will change slightly after every week of ball. You can make your own and share with all of us, or you can berate me for my choices here. Either way… I’m good to go.
