Consensus top-10 quarterback recruit commits to Indiana football

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football's recruiting hot streak continued on Thursday with the program picking up a verbal commitment from 2028 quarterback Lukas Prock, per multiple reports.

The four-star prospect is a consensus top 10 quarterback in his class and the No. 69 ranked overall prospect, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He picked the Hoosiers from a group of finalists that included Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida and Ohio State.

Prock, a New Jersey native, reported more than 40 scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder becomes the foundation of IU's 2028 recruiting class as the first commitment in the cycle. He would be the fourth quarterback signee out of high school under coach Curt Cignetti, joining the likes of Alberto Mendoza, Tyler Cherry and Jacob Bell. The Hoosiers have a commitment from Jameson Prucell, the No. 33-ranked QB, in the 2027 signing class.

Prock would edge out former IU quarterback turned receiver Donaven McCulley as the highest-ranked signee at the position should he sign when the window opens.
