The Daytona News-Journal created its 105-man roster of all-timeUCF greats, and 10 cornerbacks across Knights history have graced the All-FBS team since the program joined the FBS 30 years ago.

Many talented cornerbacks have stepped foot on campus in Orlando. Some have made program history, putting UCF on the map, and have been drafted by the NFL, representing the Black and Gold.

The Knights' All-FBS team is not limited to players who finished their collegiate careers in Orlando. Transfers and players who did not finish their career at UCF made the News-Journal's 105-man roster.

Thursday's list will focus on the 10 cornerbacks who made the News-Journal's All-FBS team.

Joe Burnett, Starter

Burnett is arguably the best cornerback to don the Black and Gold. He was a four-time All-C-USA First Team selection (2005-08) and won C-USA Special Teams Player of the Year in his senior season.

UCF went to two bowl games during his tenure — the 2005 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl and 2007 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The program honored his No. 19 and inducted him into the Hall of Fame in 2022.

Asante Samuel, Starter

Samuel made back-to-back First Teams in 1999 (Independent) and 2000 (MAC). He finished his career with the Knights, tallying 127 tackles (107 solo), eight interceptions and a school-record 38 pass deflections.

Like Burnett, he saw action as a special teams returner, bringing back 63 punts for 673 yards.

Mike Hughes, Starter

Hughes spent his final collegiate season at UCF in 2027 after transferring from Garden City Community College. He was a three-time AAC Player of the Week and earned First Team All-AAC at his position and Second Team as a return specialist.

As a junior, he finished the season with 49 tackles (37 solo), 11 pass breakups and four interceptions (one pick-six). Hughes averaged 31.8 yards in kickoff returns and brought back 14 punts for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Travis Fisher

Fisher transferred to UCF after transforming Coffeyville Community College into a top-four passing defense in the nation. He started 22 of his 33 games in a Knights uniform and ended his career with 130 tackles, four interceptions and 35 passes defended.

Josh Robinson

Robinson became an immediate contributor in his freshman season, setting a UCF freshman record in interceptions (six), which also tied a single-season program record. He was named Unanimous Freshman All-American and Second Team All-C-USA for his breakout year.

His play elevated in the following seasons, which netted him back-to-back First Team All-C-USA selections.

Shaquill Griffin

Griffin makes this list alongside his brother, Shaquem Griffin, who made it as a linebacker. He rejected offers from storied programs, like the Miami Hurricanes, to play with his brother.

In his final season, he earned Second Team All-AAC honors with 49 tackles, four interceptions, 15 passes defended and one fumble recovery. Griffin was one of three Knights to venture to Super Bowl LX with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jacoby Glenn

Glenn had a stellar sophomore season in 2014, earning Second Team All-American and Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded 48 tackles and seven interceptions across 14 starts.

AJ Bouye

Bouye created some memorable moments in Knights history as a senior in 2012. He recorded a 32-yard pick-six and a 79-yard fumble recovery touchdown against the Memphis Tigers, and recorded another pick-six against Tulsa.

Paul Miranda

Miranda played during UCF's independent era and was a crucial part of the program's transition to conferences. He helped the Knights to a 9-2 record in 1998, tallying 56 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups.

BJ Adams

Adams became a solidified starter in 2024 and was tied for the most interceptions with two on the season. One interception came against then-No. 9 Iowa State, which he returned for a touchdown and almost contributed to an upset victory.
