Freshman defensive lineman is no longer with FSU football

Freshman defensive lineman Chris Carbin is no longer with Florida State's football program and is not listed on the online roster. Chris Nee of Noles247 was first to report the news.

"He is no longer part of our program," a Florida State University Athletics spokesman told Nee.

Carbin was a member of FSU's 2026 recruiting class and signed with the Seminoles in December after committing in November. The Powder Springs, Georgia native was previously committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Seminoles signed 10 defensive linemen in their 2026 recruiting class as they worked to replenish the depth in a key unit.

He was ranked as the No. 731 overall player and No. 77 edge in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 74 player from Georgia.

The 6-foot-4, 236-pounder had a productive senior season for Hillgrove High School. He recorded 39 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, two pass breakups, and forced a fumble in 12 games.
