Lane Kiffin's has a lofty comparison for LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin knows that his success is going to be tied to the production he gets out of his quarterback, and his current signal-caller reminds him of a passer from his past.

"I kind of feel like there's some Jaxson (Dart) in there," Kiffin said per Pete Thamel of ESPN. "He's probably actually faster. But that's the most similar that I've seen with him throwing with everything, just kind of working with him and watching him and trying to figure out like, 'Okay, what are we going to look like and how are we going to design it?'"

Dart played for Kiffin during his three years at Ole Miss, including a 2024 campaign which saw him lead the SEC and entire FBS in many categories.

Leavitt transferred to LSU after two seasons at Arizona State, where he threw a combined 34 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
