One big topic that continues to dominate the behind-the-scenes chatter in college football is a potential expansion of the College Football Playoff. Another round of expansion would cause the playoff to go to 24 teams from 12. That would be huge for many teams that usually tend to be on the outside looking in. One of those teams could be the USCTrojans.

In a recent tweet, college football reporter Stewart Mandel displayed Lincoln Riley's thoughts on an expanded College Football Playoff. Here is what Riley had to say:

"When you get a room of 50 coaches or whatever we have in this conference together, it’s hard to get everybody to be unanimous on something. This is something where our room has been unanimous."

Lincoln Riley, along with many other coaches, is fully bought into more teams getting into the College Football Playoff. That will definitely give the Trojans increased opportunity to get into postseason play. The Trojans last season were featured in the AP top 25 rankings multiple times. If the case were to occur with USC's strength of schedule, they can get in with 3 losses, instead of missing the cut. With the talent the Trojans have and the type of program they are, it is hard not to think that, with the College Football Expanded, they would not be one of the teams that benefits the most.
