Dan Orlovsky Goes After Florida HC Jon Sumrall for Pedicure Treatment

Florida Gators new head coach Jon Sumrall is receiving some unfair criticism after his wife, Ginny Sumrall, revealed her husband enjoys getting pedicures during the football season.

“He loves pedicures… That’s his favorite extra thing to do," Ginny said. "Every two weeks during the football season, Jon loves to get a pedicure.”

Not long after Ginny made those comments, Sumrall received a barrage of attacks on social media, mocking the SEC football coach for taking care of his feet during the regular season.

Sumrall all but admitted he does indeed receive pedicures, making a joke of it with a post on X.

Sumrall's choice of relaxation during a challenging football schedule is still turning heads in college football, with ESPN's Dan Orlovsky saying on a broadcast that men aren't supposed to receive pedicures.

“I am completely against pedicures for dudes. You’re a dude, you’re not supposed to get pedicures,” Orlovsky said. “I am so against this. This is a thing for me. You should not be getting pedicures… My feet are awful, but I'd rather have awful feet than get pedicures."

Orlovsky is afraid of a growing trend.

"I've got my friends taking their teenage sons to get them… what?" Orlovsky said.

Sumrall has a lot on his mind, and it's in Florida's best interest for its head coach to be in his best frame of mind. That means finding an outlet to relax during the season, like LSU head coach Lane Kiffin does with hot yoga.

As Sumrall noted last week, he has a lot to accomplish to make the Gators winners again.

"Can we get there?" Sumrall said. "I believe we can or I wouldn't have taken the job. Is it going to happen overnight? It's not going to be easy, but I think things are trending positively. 

"Recruiting's going really good. … Are we resourced like the top three in our league? Doubtful. Are we the bottom three in our league? Don't think we're that either. So whoever said less is more, never had less. I think more is more."

And more pedicures might be on the schedule for Florida's staff this fall.
