The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s most outstanding interior lineman on either side of the ball, and Proctor is one of just seven players across college football to earn semifinalist recognition this season.
The selection places Proctor among elite company and continues a long-standing tradition of dominant line play in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama has produced six previous Outland Trophy winners—Chris Samuels (1999), Andre Smith (2008), Barrett Jones (2011), Cam Robinson (2016), Quinnen Williams (2018) and Alex Leatherwood (2020), a testament to the program’s reputation for developing some of the toughest and most technically sound linemen in the sport.
Proctor has lived up to that standard and then some in 2025. As the Crimson Tide’s starting left tackle, he has anchored the blind side in all 10 games so far, helping lead Alabama to an 8-2 record and a 6-1 mark in SEC play. His consistency and power have been central to an offense averaging 403.4 total yards and 31.6 points per game.

Not only has he been a rock from the offense, but Proctor’s athleticism has even allowed Alabama to get creative, using him sparingly as a ball carrier. And he has quickly become a fan favorite for his personality, hard work, and special plays he's made for Alabama. Proctor has turned four carries into 15 rushing yards and three first downs, showcasing the versatility and physicality that has made Proctor a leader in more ways than one for the Crimson Tide this season.
The three finalists for the 2025 Outland Trophy will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, with the winner revealed during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Friday, Dec. 12.
If Proctor advances, he could become the seventh Crimson Tide player to claim the award—and further cement Alabama’s legacy of offensive line excellence.
And one thing is for sure: Kadyn Proctor isn’t just chasing the Outland Trophy, he’s proving he’s the kind of cornerstone player capable of reshaping Alabama’s future one game, and play, at a time.
