Lane Kiffin’s exit from Ole Miss was rather dramatic, as he left the Rebels high and dry right before the start of last year’s College Football Playoff. Since then, Kiffin has added some players from Ole Miss to his team at LSU through the transfer portal. On Tuesday, the Rebels filed a lawsuit against two of those players.

Reports indicate that Ole Miss is suing offensive lineman Devin Harper and defensive end Princewill Umanmielen for breach of contract, according to On3 Sports. Both players allegedly signed an updated revenue-sharing agreement with the Rebels in early January.

“Ole Miss has filed breach-of-contract lawsuits against former players and current LSU players Devin Harper and Princewill Umanmielen, the school announced,” On3 Sports posted on X.

Harper and Umanmielen both transferred to LSU in mid-to-late January. It’s said that the agreement they each signed included a 90-day early-termination penalty requiring financial compensation if they were to fail to fulfill the contract. Ole Miss seeks $400,000 from Harper, along with litigation fees, and is seeking $550,000 from Umanmielen.

LSU was approached for comment, but declined at this time. Reports also indicate that the program allegedly declined to cover the buyout for both players upon signing them through the transfer portal.

Devin Harper will be playing for Lane Kiffin and the Tigers as a sophomore offensive lineman. He played six games at Ole Miss last season as a true freshman. Meanwhile. Princewill Umanmielen is entering his senior year at LSU. He played 15 games for the Rebels last season, recording 44 combined tackles (17 solo), nine sacks, and one interception.

While the drama continues to unfold between Ole Miss and LSU, the two programs are set to meet during the 2026-27 season. The Rebels will host the Tigers in an SEC matchup on September 19.
