As part of the 2026 Big Ten media days, Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell provided a slew of injury updates.

The struggling head coach was fired up at the podium, delivering a few memorable quotes as it seems like this team is finally trending in the right direction.

With a massive season opener against Notre Dame on the schedule, it's extremely important that Wisconsin has as many players available as possible.

The saddest update came when Fickell revealed that running back Gideon Ituka may never step on the field again, "I know he had surgery. I don’t know that Gideon will ever be cleared, from what I understand," he said, according to On3's Evan Flood.

Remember, Ituka was not listed on the Wisconsin fall camp roster.

Elsewhere, Fickell told reporters that wide receiver Shemar Rigby, quarterback Danny O'Neil, and defensive tackle Barrett Nelson "are also question marks for August."

Offensive lineman Emerson Mandell continues to rehab after he underwent foot surgery in spring ball. Fickell wasn't able to give an exact timetable for the right guard's return, just said that "it'll be slower getting him back into camp."
