Football Dots
- Big Ten Media days continues today. Illinois, Iowa, Penn State, Rutgers, USC, and Wisconsin were featured yesterday. CBS Sports has some highlights. Today it is Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, and UCLA. Washington will be in the group on Thursday along with Indian, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, and Northwestern. You can watch it on the Big Ten Network. Washington will be going on at 9:45 AM (PT) on Thursday, the last of the teams.
- Former Husky LB Austin Harnetiaux, who was a walkon during the Kalen DeBoer era, is now at Rice.
- Bill Connelly previews the Big Ten. His SP+ projection has UW 7th in the Big Ten and 21st nationally.
- Dawgman has a preview of UW’s defense and special teams. They talk about the newcomers on the defensive side-both incoming freshmen as well as transfers that were limited in the spring. They mentioned that some of the seniors during the Pro Day mentioned that Rahim Wright could be a surprise player for UW. And while Luke Dunne may or may not be the punter this season, the kickers want him to be their holder.
- Elise Woodward was announced as the radio play-by-play announcer for UW football. She is believed to be the first woman in FBS to have that job. While she has been doing the play-by-play for the WNBA’s Portland Fire, she will not be doing the play-by-play for UW basketball.
- UW gets a mention here because of Roger Rosengarten (his intro starts about about 1:49 in the video).
UW Athletics Dots
- Dubs had his own idea about what to do about the first pitch.
- UW Softball is looking for managers for the team.
- UW Men’s Soccer team is representing Team USA at the FISU America Games. They currently lead their group (Group A) with a 3-0-1 record. UW has a bye today, and is in good position to play for the championship.
