The Big Ten football juggernauts are very clear. It is almost a guarantee that the Oregon Ducks, Indiana Hoosiers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes will be in the running for the College Football Playoff for another season. Ducks head coach Dan Lanning, however, gives hope that other teams can crash the party, maybe USC.
In a recent tweet by the Pat McAfee Show's official account, Dan Lanning's intriguing comments about the Big Ten were put on display. Here is what he said about Oregon's conference in his appearance on the show:
"The Big Ten is a strong league and there's unbelievable competition..
There's some teams that haven't been talked about that are gonna be really good this year"
The Big Ten is always full of high-caliber teams. The best teams in college football reside in the Big Ten conference. This season, however, there are teams like the USC Trojans and the Washington Huskies who have NFL talent that could rise to the top as well. Factoring in new coaching juice for the Michigan Wolverines and the Penn State Nittany Lions, those are two teams as well that can find themselves at the top of the standings. Dan Lanning could be mostly talking about the Ducks' biggest rival, the USC Trojans, in his statement, as they are in the best position to join other juggernauts in the Big Ten. For USC, unfortunately, their path to the top will have to go through every top team in the conference. USC still remains a team that needs some attention heading into this season.
