Oregon sets game day visit for 2028 two-way star

It's always important to keep recruits close to home, both within the state and in the region. The Oregon Ducks made that a priority in the 2027 class, and that hasn't changed in the early process for the 2028 recruiting cycle.

Oregon has locked in a game day visit with four-star Jayce Halasz, who plays both wide receiver and cornerback at Graham-Kapowsin High School in Washington. Halasz will make a trip to Eugene to watch the Ducks take on UCLA on Oct. 10.

Halasz, a 6-foot-2 playmaker, is ranked as the No. 11 wideout in the 2028 class and the No. 74 player overall. He broke out in his sophomore season, hauling in 64 receptions for 1,019 yards and eight touchdowns. Halasz also had 30 tackles, seven pass breakups and one interception on defense. Halasz has impressive speed and length that could make him a weapon on either side of the ball.

In addition to his trip to Oregon, Halasz will make several game day visits around the country in the fall. He will make stops at Cal, Oregon State and Clemson early in the season, while visiting Alabama, USC, Notre Dame and Wisconsin later on.

Oregon earned a commitment from Tae Walden Jr. in the 2027 class, and he has similar traits to Halasz as a capable receiver and cornerback. The Ducks could offer a similar pitch to Halasz, tossing out the idea of playing on both sides of the ball and using his speed to make plays after the catch.

Halasz picked up an offer from the Ducks in June and things have progressed quickly. Right now, there isn't a clear leader in the race, so the fall visits around the country will go a long way to inform where programs stand in this recruitment.
