Four Washington Football Commits Earn Fiesta Bowl All-State Honors

Four Washington Huskies commits in the 2027 class and a top target in the 2028 cycle made an appearance on The Fiesta Sports Foundation's preseason honors list in Arizona this past week.
Zerek Sidney, a three-star wide receiver pledge out of Desert Edge High School (Goodyear), legacy offensive tackle Tye Kennedy from Mountain View High School (Mesa), Queen Creek Casteel punter Nolan Balke and Sandra Day O'Connor (Glendale) long snapper Braylon Logan premiered on the list. Five-star 2028 edge rusher Jalanie George, who took an unofficial visit to Seattle in March and named the Huskies to his top six in May, also made an appearance on the Fiesta Bowl's list of Arizona high school football prospects.
Both Kennedy and Sidney made the All-State Football offense list, with Balke and Logan representing two of the four specialists on the 2026 Fiesta Bowl All-State Football Teams that will be honored on August 21.
George, a 6-foot-5 and 245-pound junior, is widely considered one of the best edge rushers in the country in the 2028 class as the No. 9 overall ranked prospect and No. 2 edge, based on the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The hulking edge rusher already has several teammates, including Sidney and four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf, headed to Seattle to play for Jedd Fisch and co., and the staff has made it clear that he is its top priority in next year's class.
Both Balke and Logan made recent commits to the Huskies while Sidney was the first of the four to make his pledge to the Big Ten Conference program, announcing his decision back in late January. Balke and Logan announced their commitments on June 25-26, with Kennedy following in his father, ex-UW offensive lineman Lincoln Kennedy, on July 1.
