2028 4-star WR has set his Texas A&M visit this fall

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff are close to locking down the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, while the 2028 cycle begins to take shape this fall, with four-star Edge rusher Chance Archangel as the program's lone 2028 commit. Close to landing five-star quarterback Donald Tabron III, the Aggies will reportedly host one of the rising wide receivers in the 2028 class this fall.

Texas A&M's preseason camp will officially begin on Tuesday, with the first practice set for Wednesday afternoon, and before the Aggies host Missouri State during the 2026 season-opener on Saturday, Sept. 5, every one of Elko's priority prospects in the 2028 class will begin to schedule their unofficial visits during one of A&M's seven home games this season, and four-star wide receiver Carson LaCombe has officially scheduled his trip.

On Monday, LaCombe revealed that he will make his way to College Station on Saturday, Sept. 12, and attend Texas A&M's home matchup vs. Arizona State during the early 11:00 a.m. kickoff. This will be his second visit after visiting LSU, while visits to Ole Miss, Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Ohio State are also on the docket.

Standing 6'3" and 200 pounds, LaCombe isn't your prototypical X receiver with a large catch radius, showing off his impressive speed and playmaking ability on short and intermediate throws, consistently creating separation and utilizing his size on every play. During his 2025 sophomore season, LaCombe reeled in 65 receptions for 854 yards and 9 touchdowns.
