The Florida State football program has not finished either of the past two seasons ranked, will 2026 be the year they snap that streak? While we are a long way away from then, the 2026 season is nearly here, and the Seminoles made the preseason US LBM coaches poll.

FSU's 12 votes were not enough to crack the top 25, but they are 40th in the country. They are one of 12 ACC teams to receive votes, with the Miami Hurricanes (No. 7), SMU Mustangs (No. 20), and Clemson Tigers (No. 23) all making the top 25. The Louisville Cardinals received 153 votes, Virginia Cavaliers received 40, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets received 26, NC State Wolfpack received 13, Virginia Tech Cavaliers received 12, Duke Blue Devils received six, Pittsburgh Panthers received four, and California Golden Bears received one.

The Seminoles are currently set to play four top 25 opponents this season, including two in their first three games. They will host the SMU Mustangs in Week 1 before an early-season bye week that leads into their game at the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide. They will also play Miami and Clemson.
