'College GameDay' Week 13 location breaks unwritten rule

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is returning to the same campus for the first time of the season in Week 13. GameDay will attend the No. 15 USC Trojans at No. 7 Oregon Ducks game on Saturday morning. GameDay will start at 6 a.m. PT (local time), so the sun will rise midway during the show.

“The entire country, who can’t agree on anything, would agree that ‘College GameDay’ should never visit the same campus twice in one regular season,” one fan said via social media after GameDay announced its return to Oregon. GameDay visiting the same campus twice in the same year is a bit of an unwritten rule for many fans.

Week 13 actually does not have the best college football schedule. Many SEC teams, including the Georgia Bulldogs (who play the Charlotte 49ers), are playing cupcakes ahead of their rivalry games to end the regular season. The country’s only other ranked versus ranked matchup is the No. 22 Missouri Tigers at No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners game, which would have also been GameDay’s second time at Oklahoma’s campus this season.

GameDay analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Nick Saban, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee will be in Eugene, Oregon, for the show. GameDay’s television coverage will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 22. Popular pregame show will be televised on ESPN.
