Brian Kelly predicts Notre Dame football’s 2026 regular season record

While some Notre Dame football fans most likely don’t care much for Brian Kelly, the former head coach has now entered the broadcasting world, as he’ll call Mountain West games on CBS this fall.

It’s clearly not the same level when he was on the sidelines, but he’s still a college football voice with plenty of opinions. On Wednesday, CBS Sports released a short clip of Kelly predicting how Notre Dame’s regular season would go, and how he sees it going might surprise you.

Perfection. Kelly has the Irish going undefeated, a clean 12-0 and most likely a top seed in the College Football Playoff. He does believe that more than a few of the games won’t be easy for Notre Dame, but at the end of the day, they will come out on top.

Kelly has talked about how he doesn’t have any ill will towards the program, and this is a start to mending a relationship that wasn’t great at times. Sure, he won plenty of games in South Bend, but he rubbed people the wrong way more than a few times.

It will be interesting to hear him call games this fall, as we will all be interested to hear how he breaks down plays. It hurts to say this, but I hope that Kelly is right about his prediction for Notre Dame’s 2026 regular season.
