Tennessee tight end named to preseason John Mackey Award watch list

Tennessee senior tight end Ethan Davis was named to the preseason John Mackey Award watch list.
He enters his fourth year with the Vols and is one of 43 players, including 10 from the SEC, named to the 2026 preseason watch list for the Mackey Award. The award is presented annually to the best tight end in college football
Davis has garnered All-SEC Fourth-Team honors from Athlon and Phil Steele. He recorded career highs in receptions (21), receiving yards (257) and receiving touchdowns (two) in 2025 despite missing four games due to injury. Davis appeared in nine games, including four starts, as a redshirt sophomore.
Davis made his fourth career start in the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl versus Illinois on Dec. 30, 2025. He totaled a career-high seven receptions for 85 yards, also a career high.
Davis earned was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024. He played in 12 games, recording 13 receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
As a true freshman in 2023, Davis appeared in two games. He totaled two receptions for 33 yards.
