The Florida State Seminoles have five defensive linemen committed in their 2027 recruiting class, giving Terrance Knighton a chance to focus some of his energy on their 2028 targets. One of their top targets is Zylen Little, a four-star prospect from Tampa.
FSU has been recruiting him for quite some time, extending him a scholarship offer in May of 2025, becoming one of the first schools to believe in him. He recently told On3's Chad Simmons that the Seminoles are one of several schools that have done a "really good job" in his recruitment, and they have been rewarded.
Little is set to visit Tallahassee on Oct. 3 when the Seminoles host the Virginia Cavaliers in Doak Campbell Stadium. He will also visit the Florida Gators, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Auburn Tigers, Indiana Hoosiers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Tennessee Volunteers.
He also explained why FSU is one of the five schools standing above the rest.
“Coach Terrance Knighton has been hitting me up very frequently," he said. "I’m talking with Coach Tony White and Coach Mike Norvell a lot too. I feel like they’re going to turn things around this season. I like how they believed in me early too.”
Little is ranked as the No. 156 overall player and No. 16 defensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 18 player from Florida.
The 6-foot-2, 290-pounder is coming off an excellent sophomore season at Carrollwood Day. He finished with 61 tackles, 28.0 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
While there is a long way to go in his recruitment, he is the type of player that the Seminoles need to land as they look to find sustained success. Getting him back on campus for a game is a strong start, but they need to keep the pressure on as the rest of his contenders push.
