Penn State sets official visit date for blue-chip 2028 edge rusher

Penn State is in full swing with football activities, as training camp is underway and there’s less than a month until the regular season begins. While mostly everyone has their eyes on the team’s 12-game schedule, the coaching staff still has to multitask and continue recruiting.
With Beaver Stadium ready to host more than 100,000 fans, it will also welcome numerous high school athletes throughout the season. One of them will be four-star edge rusher George Parkinson IV, who named the Nittany Lions as one of the top-6 schools he’s considering. Ryan Snyder of On3 Sports reported on Thursday that the blue-chip pass rusher will be visiting the school on Sept. 26.
That date will mark the fourth Penn State game of the season, and the beginning of their Big Ten schedule, as they take on the Wisconsin Badgers. It may seem surprising that a recruit this important isn’t attending the team’s White Out game, but he’s attended a couple of them in the past.
The Class of 2028 has a chance to be a special one for Penn State. They already have two four-star players who’ve committed to the team and they are finalists for some others. The Nittany Lions also landed one of the top kickers in the class in Carter Petri, who rounds out the class, making it the fourth-best in the nation according to 247Sports.
Parkinson IV is a consensus four-star recruit and is considered to be one of the best edge rushers in his class. He would be the perfect candidate to carry on Penn State’s legacy of dominant pass rushers.
