Silverton football player wins Maps Credit Union boys Athlete of the Week

Silverton football player Levi Schurter is the winner of the Maps Credit Union high school boys Athlete of the Week, as voted by Statesman Journal readers.
A junior running back, Schurter scored four touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards Nov. 14 in Silverton's 35-32 home victory over Wilsonville in the OSAA 5A state quarterfinals.
Schurter received 52.96% of the reader poll votes. St. Paul football player Noah Hockett was second (39.85%).

Ty Cirino, Central cross-country
Cirino finished third in the OSAA 5A state championship race Nov. 8 at Lane Community College in Eugene,, where he ran his 5,000-meter race in 15 minutes, 13.9 seconds.
Noah Hockett, St. Paul football
The Buckaroos' junior quarterback scored two rushing touchdowns and threw two touchdowns Nov. 14 in St. Paul's 36-16 win over Clatskanie in the OSAA 2A state quarterfinals.
Bryce Kuenzi, Cascade football
The senior rushed for 262 yards and scored two touchdowns Nov. 14 in Cascade's 28-20 win over Junction City in the OSAA 4A state quarterfinals.
Johnny Mariano, Gervais football
Mariano scored six touchdowns Nov. 14 for the No. 12 Cougars as they advanced to the OSAA 3A state semifinals following a 44-29 victory over No. 13 Douglas.
Cesar Perez, Stayton soccer
Stayton's freshman super-sub scored the game-winning goal Nov. 11 in a 3-2 win over Klamath Union in an OSAA 4A state semifinal to help Stayton advance to the championship game.
Damien Vallejo Lopez, North Marion soccer
The junior scored the game-winning goal Nov. 11 in the Huskies' 1-0 state semifinal victory over Henley to advance to the OSAA 4A state championship game.
