The Georgia Bulldogs are headed into the 2026 season, which means for the most part the page is being turned on the 2027 recruiting class until signing day and onto the 2028 group of prospects.

After a spring and summer that was hot and cold for the Dawgs on the recruiting trail for 2027 and looks like it will finish lower than fans may be used to, the urgency is high to land a top class for 2028. With the No. 1 quarterback in the nation locked in as well as a top tight end in the class committed as the first two pledges.

Things could be about to heat up over the course of the next eight to ten months or so for this group of players, and one of the top corners in the nation and the state of Georgia could wind up being a Bulldog before all is said and done. In a hit and miss prediction for the top targets in 2028, intel from UGA Sports on On3 predicted top cornerback Tyler Boyd out of Carrollton to wind up in this class for Kirby Smart.

Georgia Projected to Land Tyler Boyd

"Boyd has been heavily recruited by Georgia for two years already," Jeremy Johnson wrote. "He’s playing a position of need, and Georgia checks a lot of boxes early. Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma are the contenders alongside the Bulldogs."

Boyd is very much going to be a difficult target to land as one of the top ranked players in the nation at his position, but him being from the state of Georgia could work to the advantage of Smart and this coaching staff as it has so many times before.

This is a player that every school in the country is going to be after and for good reason, he has all the makings of a potential future star in the SEC.

What Kind of Skillset Boyd Would Bring to Athens

Rated by 247 Composite as a five-star and the No. 4 corner in the nation as well as just outside the top-30 overall players in the nation, this is a big boy recruitment which will not be easy to get done.

Standing at just a hair under six feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Boyd already has an impressive frame with two full high school seasons left to play. If he gets off to a strong start for powerhouse Carrollton this year, his status could grow even more on the trail.

Keep an eye out for intel here over the next six months as Boyd prepares to line up official visits next spring, because this is a guy the Bulldogs would absolutely love to be able to land.
