The Georgia Bulldogs have been listed as one of the most likely SEC programs to finish the 2026 regular season with an undefeated record.
The Georgia Bulldogs are inching closer to the start of their 2026 college football season as the offseason reaches its final weeks. With week one drawing near, many experts have begun taking a look at some programs' schedules and making predictions.
One of the hardest things to do during a college football regular season is finish the year with a perfect record. A feat that has been accomplished twice in the past two seasons (Oregon in 2024 and Indiana last season).
This year there are a handful of programs that have been named candidates to go undefeated, with a large majority of those teams residing in conferences outside the SEC. However according to CBS Sports, the Georgia Bulldogs appear to be most likely to finish 12-0 from the SEC.
Georgia was listed as the 6th most likely team in the national to complete a perfect regular season this year. Which is the highest ranking out of any program in the SEC. The next highest ranking belongs to the Texas Longhorns, who placed 10th on the list.

"As always, the Bulldogs will be tested as they pursue a sixth consecutive SEC championship game appearance," wrote CBS Sports' Brad Crawford. "This schedule appears even tougher, highlighted by a trip to Bryant-Denny Stadium, where Georgia has not won since 2007."
The Bulldogs were able to string together three consecutive undefeated regular seasons from 2021-2023 and won a pair of national championships as a result. While the Dawgs have proven they are more than capable of accomplishing the impressive feat, it will not be an easy task for Kirby Smart and his roster.
The Bulldogs, like the rest of the SEC will be adopting a nine-game conference schedule this season and will face a handful of difficult opponents such as Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Alabama, all teams that made an appearance in the College Football Playoff last season.
Georgia's quest for another undefeated regular season will begin on Saturday, September 5th when the Dawgs host Tennessee State for their 2026 opener. Under Kirby Smart, Georgia has not lost a season opener.
