Oprah Winfrey and longtime partner Stedman Graham stepped out together in Chicago for the 40th anniversary celebration of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The appearance marked the couple’s first public outing together in nearly seven years, offering a rare glimpse of the pair as they celebrated one of Winfrey’s most defining career milestones.
According to E! News, the couple kept things relatively low-key during the gathering, spending time with friends, family and Chef Art Smith at his Reunion restaurant. Smith also shared footage of Winfrey and Graham enjoying the celebration, including a playful moment involving a large plate of fried chicken. Winfrey wore a relaxed pinstriped set with white sneakers and sunglasses, while Graham opted for a black suit and white shirt.
Oprah Winfrey and Graham have been together since meeting at a charity event in 1986, the same year “The Oprah Winfrey Show” began. Despite Graham proposing in 1993, the pair ultimately chose not to marry. Winfrey has previously explained that while she appreciated being asked to marry her, she did not want the compromises she associated with marriage. Instead, the couple have maintained a long-term partnership while supporting each other’s individual ambitions.
Graham has also spoken about his commitment to Winfrey’s happiness, describing his desire to see her thrive. Their latest appearance comes as Oprah Winfrey celebrates four decades since the launch of the talk show that transformed daytime television and made her one of the most influential figures in American media.
