The SEC is home to blue bloods and programs with iconic looks. From the Swamp to Death Valley and across the Red River, some of the best lids in college football reside in the SEC.
Now that Oklahoma's been in the SEC for a couple of seasons, we've grown to better appreciate some of the looks you'll see across the conference this fall. But who has the best helmet? We've ranked them from worst to first.
Now, some schools use several alternates, but we only considered the school's base helmet. Otherwise, Ole Miss' powder blues or even their white helmets would have received more love. So would Texas A&M's black helmets with the script "Aggies."
16. Mississippi State Bulldogs
This looks like the helmet you'd get for a television show about the generic state university's football program.
15. Texas A&M Aggies
Unless you're an Aggie, you only see ATM. If you're a Sooners fan, you see 77-0.

14. Ole Miss Rebels
The Ole Miss helmet looks better in white or powder blue, but their base helmet is the navy. It's pretty good, but this is the rare occassion where the alternates are better than the original.
13. Arkansas Razorbacks
The cardinal lid with the furious Razorback is a pretty good look for Arkansas. It's unique. Only a few schools in the conference have an animal on the side of their helmet.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores
Looks a lot like Army, but relative to the rest of the domes in the SEC, this one stands out. Diego Pavia and the Dores made it look better the last couple of seasons.
11. Missouri Tigers
Missouri has multiple looks, but the Tiger on the side is better than the "M" that makes Mizzou look like a Great Value Michigan.
10. Texas Longhorns
On the one hand, it's the Texas Longhorns. On the other hand, it's such an iconic logo. Out of respect for the brand, we can't put them last.

9. Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers have a really good look. Simple and clean. A much better orange than the Longhorns and it looks great over top of their white or Tennessee Orange jerseys.

8. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky may have the best blue in college football. When you think of blue, that's likely the color you think of. It's a great look for the Wildcats.

7. Auburn Tigers
I'm a sucker for white helmets. This is such a great look with the interlocking "A" and "U."

6. LSU Tigers
It's a little busy with both the school initials and the logo on the side, but against the unique yellow backdrop the LSU Tigers find a way to make it work in a signature look.

5. South Carolina Gamecocks
South Carolina has the best maroon helmet in the SEC. The way they interlock the Gamecock with the "C" for Carolina brings it together nicely.
4. Georgia Bulldogs
Recent years have obviously made this helmet look even better, but the red and black evoke wrestling's "Road Warriors." The colors are tough, and even though the "G" resembles Green Bay's logo, that's Georgia's original design, which the Packers logo has evolved into. Pretty iconic.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide
There's something unique about the numbers on the side for Alabama as the Crimson Tide bring another classic look to the table.

2. Florida Gators
These lids elicit bad memories from the 2009 BCS national championship game. But it's still a great look. You don't see a lot of orange out there, but the Florida Gators do a great job incorporating it into their uniform. The Gators script is really well done. Not too busy and well-proportioned for the helmet. This helmet just screams state of Florida.

1. Oklahoma Sooners
We may be a bit biased here, but we're quite fond of the cream interlocking OU on the crimson backdrop. Oklahoma is a blue-blood brand with a blue-blood look.
